Waste and Recycling

Waste Sites

North Frontenac operates a network of Transfer Stations and Waste Sites. Waste Sites are the final resting place for non-recyclable garbage, requiring regular cover of soil to prevent garbage from attracting wildlife or blowing around as litter.

The Cloyne Transfer Station, Ompah Transfer Station and Kashwakamak Waste Site accept clear bagged household waste and Blue Box recyclables only.

The 506 Waste Site, Plevna Waste Site and Mississippi Waste Site each accept clear bagged household waste, sorted construction and demolition waste, large household items (e.g. appliances, furniture etc.), scrap metal and recycling.

Payment in accordance with the Fees and Charges By-law, as amended, can be completed by either cash or cheque at all of the Waste Sites and Transfer Stations.

Bag tags

You are required to purchase a bag tag to dispose of one bag of waste at the price of $2.00 each. If you bring in recycling, you will receive one free bag tag for any additional bags of recycling compared to number of bags of waste.

Tags can be acquired at vendors listed below, and at the Municipal Office.

If you own property in North Frontenac you can obtain additional Waste Site Permits for family members, renters and tenants residing on your property by completing a Waste Site Permit Application Form to return to the Township Office. Waste Site Permits are mailed or available for pick-up at the Township Office upon information validation.
