About North Frontenac

The Township of North Frontenac is home to over 2,285 permanent and 7,000 seasonal residents. The low density population makes for the preservation of 1,157.97 square km of unique landscape located entirely on the Canadian Shield.

Nestled in the heart of eastern Ontario's Cottage Country, we have various year round outdoor activities and relaxed living. When it's warmer

In the summer months, many residents spend their time on a large network of trails, hiking, hunting, and off-roading with ATVs. While others spend time in and around the water partaking in activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, water-skiing, and tubing.

In the winter

During the winter season, you can enjoy the snow blanketed landscapes, which replaces the summer scenery with a beautiful white appearance. Enjoy snowmobiling and snowshoeing the large expanses of our trails. You can also partake in ice fishing that you can enjoy over the many frozen lakes scattered with fishing huts.

The Township of North Frontenac was established in 1998 from the former Townships of; Township of Barrie, Township of Clarendon and Miller, Township of Palmerston, and, Township of North and South Canonto. The circular logo represents the inclusion of all of these Townships as well as the natural landscape and proud Canadian heritage.

The stylized text based logo has a maple leaf included for added flare. The maple leaf is indicative of our outdoors and wilderness being fundamental to everyday life in North Frontenac. It is why so many choose to live, retire and vacation in the Township of North Frontenac.
