FOR THE ENVIRONMENT – SPRING 2026
WHAT ARE INVASIVE SPECIES?
Invasive species are plants and animals that establish outside their natural range and can cause significant ecological and economic harm. They are a growing concern among rural and cottage-based communities where movement between properties and waterbodies is frequent. Once established, invasive species are extremely difficult and costly to manage, and can impact the overall environmental integrity of the Township of North Frontenac.
